Vierivät vuodet kuin vierivä virta - Rolling years like a rolling stream

Perjantaina koitti vihdoin päivä, jolloin hyvä ystäväni perheineen muutti Meksikosta Suomeen. Olinkin jo odottanut jälleen näkemistä paljon kolmen vuoden tauon jälkeen! Toivon heidän asettuvan tänne pohjolaan hyvin ettei muutosta tule vain pikavisiitti :) Niin ne kolme vuotta vain vierähtivät nopeasti. Vuosi kuulostaa yleensä pitkältä ajalta mutta tuntuukin lopulta lyhyeltä. Näin on mielestäni myös silloin, kun vuosia on tapaamisen välissä useampi, ainakin hyvien ystävien kohdalla. Siitä jatketaan mihin viimeeksi jäätiin. Tietysti vuodessa ja etenkin kolmessa ehtii tapahtua paljon, mutta tärkeintä on vain pitää yhteyttä toiseen. Videopuhelut ovat mielestäni huippukeksintö, mutta ne eivät korvaa itselleni mitenkään kasvokkain keskustelua ja näkemistä samassa paikassa. Tuntuu aina vain yhtä oudolta ja samalla mahtavalta nähdä itselleen tärkeä ihminen siinä edessä pitkän tauon jälkeen.

On Friday it was finally the day, when my good friend moved from Mexico to Finland with her family. I had already been waiting a lot for reunion and seeing each other after a three-year break! I hope that they settle down here north well that their move is not going to be only a fast visit :) So did three years just roll by fast. A year sounds usually like a long time but finally it seems short. I think this happens also when there's more years between seeing, at least with good friends. You continue with your friend where you left last time. Of course in a year and especially in three years happens a lot but the most important is just to keep contact to other person. I think that video calls are great invention but for me they doesn't replace in any way talking face to face and meeting people in same place. It just feels always so strange and awesome at the same time to see important person right in front of you after a long break.
